Committing yourself to a body of believers is a weighty, but wonderful thing. Three things happen when a person becomes a covenant member of Substance Church. (1) A covenant commitment to a local spiritual family that provides one another with love, encouragement, and support as disciple-makers of Jesus. (2) A commitment to joyfully and sacrificially serve your brothers and sisters in Christ. (3) The commitment of elders and leaders to care for members through counsel, prayer, and teaching the word of God.
This is where we take a deep dive and unpack some of the theological distinctives we hold to as a church.
We will ask you some questions about yourself and the story of how God saved you. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and become baptized if you have not already!
The final step in becoming a member is to meet with a Pastor. We will explain our membership covenant, listen to the story of how God saved you, answer any questions you might have and then ask you to sign the covenant. Once you have fulfilled these requirements, you are a member of Substance Church!
