To Suffer For Joy
By Ronnie Martin
December 9, 2015How do we explain the sadness of Christmas? The still life memories that hover like foggy mist. Christmas time is here. Olden times and ancient rhymes. Snowmen and sugar plums infiltrated by the stillness. For thoughts of sober reflection and slow motion pauses. For wondering if the years will be kinder. For remembering the long hours of the night that lingered for Mary and Joseph. We measure our calendars from before and after the Christ, but for Mary and Joseph, it would be how they measured their lives. A child born to suffer for joy. Christmas time is here.
